I am a postdoctoral fellow at Duke University who researches how trans studies and queer theory diverge in their theorizations of slavery, political violence, and liberation.

I received my PhD in Gender, Feminist and Women’s Studies from York University. In my dissertation, I think with affect theory, trans studies and Black studies to question the role of feeling in the state regulation and recognition of transness.
